Antique Circa 1870's 18K Enameled Harem Girl Locket

$3,295.00

This is a beautiful Circa 1870's acid tested 18K enameled locket. In the center is a very detailed portrait of a Harem Girl. She is wearing a lovely vale decorated with roses and three rose cut diamonds. Her dress has a detailed design and a shoulder sash. There is a black enameled and incised design in the border of the locket around the enameled portrait. It has the original enameled bale section which could be worn on a chain or clipped on a garment. The locket measures 2 3/8ths inches from the top of the bale and 1 1/4 inches at the widest point. The enameled section is 1 1/4 inches by 1 inch. The back section has a clear beveled glass that is fitted with a removable gold bezel. There are no hallmarks, however I believe this piece to be French or Italian in origin. It is in excellent original condition. This is a remarkable gold locket from an elegant Victorian Era.
