Antique Circa 1915 Signed Meissen Porcelain of Young Maiden Milking Cow
This is a very beautiful signed Meissen porcelain of a lovely young maiden milking a cow. She is barefoot and her scarf and dress are finely detailed. The colors are soft and muted which lends a rich texture to this piece. Even the milk pail is detailed. The signature markings indicate it was made between 1915 and 1920, please refer to photos. The presence of the impressed and incised numerals which are always encountered with the crossed swords are indicative of a genuine Meissen porcelain and may be seen in the photos. It appears to be in excellent condition with only a very minor gold touch up to the very bottom border measuring 3/4" and mentioned only for accuracy. This small restoration is a gold touch up at the very bottom rim that can be seen in the second, fifth and last photos. This is the only restoration and is minor for the age of the piece. The rest is in mint original condition. This porcelain stands 8 1/4 inches to the top of the cow's horns and 8 inches at the widest part of the figurine by 5 inches deep. This is an enchanting porcelain and a fine example of early 20th Century Meissen.
