This was an amazing find. It is a museum quality circa 1840 14K locket brooch. It is a micro hand painted portrait of an absolutely beautiful young woman of royalty. Her woven hair is held in place with diamonds and she is wearing a diamond necklace. This magnificent piece is artist initialed and French in origin. She is micro hand painted applied on silk under a beveled glass and set in an absolutely gorgeous 14K frame set with Persian turquoise and pearls. At the top of the brooch is a beautiful bird perched on a gold post. The back is a large oval glass locket with a gold frame.
