Antique Sgn. Mont Joye Enameled Orchid Bowl
This is a large and fine example of Mont Joye French art glass from the Art Nouveau Era. It is a Circa 1900 Jugendstil Period magnificent bowl with an ice chip finish and a crimped opening at the top. It has an absolutely beautiful enameled orchid floral motif. The front has two large orchids while the back one lavender, puple and yellow orchid. This bowl is very large measuring 6 3/4 inches tall and 7 1/4 inches across the widest part of the body of the bowl. It weighs 3 1/2 pounds. This is fully signed Mont Joye on the base, please refer to photos. The condition is excellent with the exception of several small minor marks on one enameled petal of the yellow orchid as seen in photos. This is expected and commiserate for the age of a 100 plus year old piece and does not deter from the beauty of the elegant orchids. The rest of the bowl is in mint condition. This is a very fine example of French Art Nouveau art glass from an elegant bygone era.
