Antique Signed Royal Bayreuth Rose Tapestry Pitcher
Royal Bayreuth is the name of a factory that was founded in Tettau, Bavaria, in 1794. The marks have changed through the years. A stylized crest, the name Royal Bayreuth, and the word Bavaria appear in slightly different forms from 1870 to about 1919. This pitcher is a beautiful example of the quality craftsmanship during this period and retains all of the above markings. It is Circa 1880 and is called Rose Tapestry. The roses are absolutely beautiful and there is a texture to the tapestry. It measures 4 inches tall by 4 3/4 inches from spout to end of handle. This piece is in excellent condition showing only very minor wear to the gold trim around the rim which is commiserate with age. This is a very fine example of Bavarian Porcelain from an elegant bygone era.
