This is a very lovely Circa 1880 French antique bronze porcelain champleve footed tray. This is an exceptional example of French artistry from the 19th century. The tray has a very graceful scalloped design. The interior border is an ornate hand done enameled champleve floral design. In the center is a detailed hand painted scene on porcelain of two cherubs holding a plaque and hovering over a pair of lovers in an embrace within a beautiful garden. Written on the plaque the cherubs are holding are the words in French, Serment D'aimer Toute La Vie which literally translates to Oath To Love All Life or Life Long. This is also artist signed in the lower right corner, please refer to photos. This is all set in a footed bronze tray and measures 6 3/4 inches long by 4 3/4 inches deep and 1 1/2 inches tall and in excellent original condition.
