Circa 1880 Ornate Antique Victorian Meriden Bride's Basket

This is a very fine example of quality Victorian Bride's Baskets. This is Circa 1880 and the holder is signed Meriden Silverplate Company. The holder is very ornate with an overall intricate floral design. The silver plate is in excellent condition and the base is footed. On each lower side of the handle is an exquisite winged figure. The holder measures 7 1/4 inches to the top of the handle and 11 inches at the widest point. The basket is original to the holder and amazing. It is apricot satin glass with a very highly ruffled rim. The interior is enamel decorated with garlands of gold and pale blue flowers. Between each garland are enameled dragonflies and insects. The bowl is numbered on the base and most likely was produced by Mount Washington with Meriden silver plate. The bowl measures 3 1/4 inches at the tallest point by 10 inches at the widest point. This is an absolutely beautiful example of the finest quality produced by master craftsman during the Victorian period.
