This is a very attractive example of early Jugendstil art glass. It is a large Rindskopf Pepita iridescent bowl. Rindskopf was one of the top major art glass houses in Austria during the 1890/1910 period. This is an exceptional large bowl with a beautiful turned and scalloped rim. The color is amazing with an iridescent pale green with a red sheen starting at the base and terminating into a deep rich iridescent red at the top rim section. This is a large example that is 10 1/2 inches wide and 5 inches at the tallest part of the design. It has a polished pontil and is in excellent mint original condition and weighs 3 1/4 lbs. This is a very fine example of hand crafted art glass from an elegant bygone era.
