This is a beautiful example of English silversmiths. This lovely box is Circa 1900 sterling silver. The entire box including the cover are covered with a raised repousse of cherubs, birds, squirrels, with a rabbit and dog incorporated into the design and an ornate scrolled floral motif. The bottom is fully hallmarked along with the side of the cover, please refer to photos. There is the faintest trace of what might have once been a monogram on the cover. The box measures 3 1/4" tall and 3 1/8" across the bottom of the base and weighs 132.7 grams. It is in excellent original condition showing only normal wear. This is a fine silver piece exhibiting the quality craftsmanship of an elegant bygone era.
