This is a beautiful example of the quality work produced by Erte. This is Erte's "La Coquette" Bronze Statue which consists of a limited edition and this fine example is # 219/375. Only 375 were produced. This exceptional bronze stands 18 1/2 inches tall and represents one of the finest limited edition of decorative arts. This piece is signed Fine Art Acquisition and dated 1985. This statue is based on designs by Romain de Tirtoff, (1892-1990). He later adopted the name Erte and his involvment with the art world goes all the way back to 1915, when he began producing artwork used by Harper's Bazaar, providing more than 240 covers in 22 years for the magazine. During this same period, he was also designing stage sets and costumes for top actresses of the period. Erte became a popular figure in the art world again in 1977 when he authorized bronzes based on his designs to Fine Art Acquisition a firm based in New York. This renowned artists work can be found in museums world wide including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Tokyo Museum.
