Lady's Vintage Sterling Hand Painted Airedale Terrier Pendant
This is a beautiful vintage sterling silver hand painted pendant of a handsome Airedale Terrier. The Airedale Terrier, also called Bingley Terrier and Waterside Terrier, is a dog breed of the terrier type that originated in the valley (dale) of the River Aire, in the West Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is traditionally called the "King of Terriers" because it is the largest of the terrier breeds. The Airedale was bred from the Old English Black and Tan Terrier. This is a beautiful portrait of that breed. The back of the pendant is sterling silver as well as the 18 inch sterling chain. The front appears to be encased with a convex glass which lends a dramatic appearance to the dog. The pendant measures 7/8th inches in diameter and is in excellent original condition. This is a great vintage pendant with a portrait of a regal dog.
