Magnificent Circa 1890 Art Nouveau Iridescent Rindskopf Vase
This is a stunning example of the fine hand made quality art glass from the Jugendstil Art Nouveau era. It is a Rindskopf vase of the highest quality. It has a very unique shape with four sides dimpled inward which creates a shimmering iridescent appearance. The vase is Circa 1890. Kralik and Rindskopf were two bohemian glass houses in the late 1800s, they both saw what Loetz was doing and decided to follow their style. Kralik and Rindskopf went through a brief period of amazing innovation producing, along with Loetz, a body of Jugendstil glass that is unique in the history of art glass. Amazing shapes, finishes, designs and forms were created, all the skills of glass makers were stretched to the limit. This was the last period where factories were dependent on the fine skills of their master glass makers. This vase is an exceptional example of this period. It stands 11 1/4 inches tall and 4 1/4 inches at the widest part of the base. The vase is mint and clean with a polished pontil on the base.
