Pair Circa 1920's Moser Scenic Engraved Covered Vaseline Compotes
This beautiful pair of engraved vaseline covered compotes are a very fine example of vintage Moser art glass. They are circa 1920's and in excellent condition showing only normal shelf were to the base. The body of each compote is engraved with a detailed woodland scene with deer and trees filled with foliage. The covers are engraved with an overall leaf and vine design which is repeated on the base of each. What is very interesting is that each scene has a variation. One has two deer in an wooded setting while the other has three deer in a forested scene. The detail to the engraving is exceptional. Each compote measures 12 1/2 inches tall and each weighs approximately 2 1/2 pounds each. It is rare to find a pair of vintage Moser covered compotes and these are a tribute to the fine craftsmanship from an elegant bygone era.
