Rare Circa 1890 Kralik Vase In Metal Armature
Here is a very distinctive Art Nouveau vase in a beautiful metal armature with floral garlands at the top and bottom sections. We believe this to have been produced by Kralik between 1890 and 1910. As companies from the Art Nouveau period like Rindskopf and Kralik did not document the various patterns and did not sign their pieces, it is difficult to state with certainty as to the maker, however we attribute this to Kralik as an experimental one-of-a-kind piece. It is a beautiful emerald green vase with mottled amethyst and cream specks throughout with an unusual raised texture. The metal armature is exquisite with detailed bronzed floral garlands and finials. The metal armature measures 8 1/2 inches to the top of the finials, 6 3/4 inches to the top of the vase, and 4 1/2 inches across the widest part of the footed base. This piece is an exceptional example of the magnificent glass produced in the Jugendstil Period. There is a very slight wobble to the footed base, however is sits straight and is in excellent original condition.
