Rare Circa 1900 Moser Ruby Red Vase With Enameled Fish

$995.00

This is quite a beautiful and unusual early piece of Moser. Like most early Moser this piece is unsigned but absolutely Moser. It is a deep ruby red vase with a large applied and enameled finned fish with an enameled leaf and floral design. The top section has large ruby tadpoles with a dripping icicle overlapping the tadpoles creating a very dramatic appearance. The elaborate enameled fish has applied Persian turquoise glass eyes. The vase has a large polished pontil base and measures 6 3/4 inches tall and 6 inches at the widest part including the fish. This exceptional example of early Moser is in excellent condition showing only very minor inclusions in the application of the tadpoles which are completely in the making of the piece. The deep ruby color and the large size of the applied finned fish make this a very rare piece and a fine example of the exemplary craftsmanship from Moser from an elegant bygone era.
